There are 23 miles of sandy, white beaches to be found in the resort town of Daytona Beach, Florida and they are free to any tourist that wants to enjoy them.  The only time you can not drive a vehicle on Daytona Beach is when it is sea turtle nesting season, but the driving must occur between one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset.  These endangered creatures come ashore at night to lay their eggs and then retreat back into the choppy waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Tourists are lured to Daytona Beach throughout the year, but there are two activities that occur that steep Daytona Beach in deep crowd cover.  Daytona is a haven for NASCAR fans that enjoy the high speed racing that is found at the Daytona Motor Speedway.  Tourist can tour the Daytona International Speedway and pick up all of the souvenirs they need to impress the folks back home. Daytona Beach, Florida is home to the largest motorcycle rally on the East Coast and motorcycling fans call it, Bike Week.   It is very hard to find any type of accommodation during Bike Week, and Daytona recommends that reservations be made early.  Bikers will converge on Daytona during Bike Week and display a wide assortment of motorcycles riding throughout the streets.  The atmosphere during Bike Week can be quite chaotic, but filled with immeasurable fun.

 There are championship golf courses in Daytona Beach too, and playtime is offered at value rates year round.   Tourists are afforded the opportunity to enjoy USTA Florida Tennis tournaments too, with numerous tennis courts available throughout the year.

Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy some of the best fishing in Florida when they visit Daytona Beach.  There are several fishing tournaments during the year including the Daytona Beach Striking Tournament which occurs in May.  There are many area waterways in Daytona Beach where people can enjoy boating or kayaking for the day.

There is underwater adventure available in the numerous shipwrecks in the area.  People enjoy freshwater and saltwater diving, and snorkeling closer to shore.  The Daytona Beach area features a popular rock ledge reef that has claimed many vessels over the years.

Families can find many sports activities to enjoy during their stay in Daytona Beach.  There are minor league baseball games, and indoor football to fill the need for action during any vacation period.  There is an abundant night life for tourists to enjoy too.  Couples can spend the evening dancing the night away at high-energy clubs or simply relaxing and listening to live bands at many nightclub locations.

With more than 400 restaurants to chose from, travelers will be afforded the opportunity to enjoy delectable cuisines from all around the world.  The catch of the day will find it’s way to many plates throughout the year, and that is because the Atlantic Ocean is right out the back door to many resorts and restaurants in the area.
