The rolling white sand beaches and sparkling water of Sarasota, Florida is quite an alluring sight for visitors. Sarasota, Florida and the other islands that makes up the Sarasota cluster gives tourists plenty of opportunities to relax. These islands have rather creative names like Siesta Key, Sarasota, Lido/St. Armands Circle, Casey Key, Venice, Englewood, and Manasota Key.

Favored as the gem of the Florida Gulf Coast region, Sarasota is a place that tourists visit all throughout the year. These beach-front landscapes boast of sun drenched waters and 35 miles of silky sand encased beaches.  Sarasota, along with her sister islands, offers a multitude of exciting attractions for tourists to see and activities to enjoy with friends and family. 

Acting as the center of the Theatre and Arts District, the area surrounding Main Street, Sarasota gives visitors a taste of culture. This place is often used for art festivals.  There are also a lot of restaurants in this area of Sarasota. Tourist can also enjoy the  Farmers Market held here on Saturday mornings. 

If you’re into retro, memorabilia and collectible shops line the streets at Pineapple Avenue, while art lovers enjoy visiting the fine art galleries on Palm Avenue. Burns Courts is a haven for the artsy as it features 1920’s independent film styling and the masses usually come there to enjoy the artists’ performance at Towles Court.

Tourists are presented with a naturalist’s escape by the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Ornamented with bromeliads in varying colors, luscious exotic orchids and other tropical plant life such as bamboos and pines, people can absorb the wonder of the lush grassland environment found at Myakka River State Park as well as in the Sarasota Jungle Gardens. 

Beautiful landscapes that surround the Myakka River State Park enthralls tourists who try an adventurous canoe ride down this marvelous waterway.  Kids are also privy to a bit of fun when they go to the Ringling Circus Museum and may even get to feel like a circus clown while they are there.  Both parents and children alike can experience joy while at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. A feeling of awe garnered from viewing fine works of art from seeing the world’s largest miniature circus can be had here.

More active tourists may take advantage of adventures like kayaking on Sarasota Bay or maybe splash around with their family at the Steigerwald/Jockey Park at Island Park.  Families can also visit the Ed Smith Stadium to see the Cincinnati Reds at pitching and batting practice during their Spring Training exercises. 

This 7,500 seat stadium also enjoys the crack of the bat in March when this popular baseball club’s spring season goes into full swing, figuratively speaking.  Tourists can also obtain autographs as well as photographs of their favorite players while they enjoy major league baseball moments in this huge sports arena.  A rather huge amount of fun can be had simply with watching a team undergoing their yearly spring training.
