The exotic beaches offer a gamut of beach activities and splendid food that is cherished for years. The extended 400 miles of winding coastline offers a mix of urban excitement and rural tranquility. The long sandy Rhode Island Beaches that supplement the clear ocean waters along with bright sunlight and cool breezes make for a dream summer vacation destination for many families. Rhode Island Beaches have more than hundred public and private beaches that make it a great place for novice swimmers.
Block Island lies approximately 12 miles towards south of Rhode Island. It comprises of three beaches namely the crescent beach, black rock beach and Ballard’s beach. The beaches of Block Island are extremely dangerous and thus are not recommended for small children. The crescent beach entails three smaller beaches namely Fred Benson Town Beach or State Beach, Scotch Beach and Mansion Beach. All the three beaches are semi-safe for swimming and only State beach has the facility of life guards, rental chairs and food. For small children the “surf beach” or “baby beach” near the beachhead is best suitable. Black rock is referred to as the nude beach on the island and can be more rocky and dangerous. This place is a straight forward no for small children. Ballard’s beach is again an adult beach where small children are not allowed. This beach is for alcoholic celebrations. The bar and restaurant Ballard’s owns the beach providing a very calm and relaxed atmosphere.
Jamestown is a great get away for people who would like to cook out on the beach side. The beach has endless activities to perform that visitor’s do not spend a minute getting bored. Camping, hiking, fishing and much more the hours pass by in minutes and visitors are never willing to leave the beach side. The moments spent over the beach are cherished by people for lifetime. A lot many people spend their time golfing at the beachside.
Narragansett beach is very well known for its swimming and surfing activities. The beach leaves people longing for more. The long flat beach proximal to center of town has high surf that makes it an ideal place to learn surfing. There is a nice snack bar where people relish the flavor of the splendid beach offerings. The beach has the facilities of parking and life guards who are present most of the day from 9 am till 5 pm. The best season to visit the beach is the off season.
Newport Beach is known for its shopping sprees, dining and wining activities. Year after year the beach attracts numerous visitors to relish the wide range of food available at the 300 restaurants spread across the beach. These restaurants offer the exotic sea food and also the food from the far off lands. Boardwalks, sun bathing, shell collecting, boating etc. are among the few beach activities that visitor’s enjoy everyday over the beach.
New Shoreham is a three mile stretch of sand and sand dunes making it a great beach to walk beside the mighty waves that break at the shore making huge sounds. Grass and trees have been planted to prevent any soil erosion at the beach. Fishing, volleyball, hiking, sun bathing, swimming, surfing, treasure hunting etc are some of the beach activities that people engage in.
