Visiting the old town of Key West, one will be fascinated by the true botanical architectural beauty that it holds. Key West boasts of its tropical trees and flowers beautifying old wooden homes. Chartered fishing boats transport hundreds of tourists every day to the well-known the Blight. There they could enjoy mouthwatering meals of seafood and local delicacies.

Most people unusually travel around the region in their bare feet. Still others choose to be on their bicycles to be able to leisurely look around as well. Fishing, diving, and other waters ports can be enjoyed in the many beaches surrounding the region. Golf is also a major recreational activity both for tourists and locals alike.

One cannot summarize their beach vacation without thinking of beach postcards. For generations visitors to the beach have included as part of their vacation, sending postcards to family, friends, and loved ones at home. Visits to local stores and beach novelty stores for sun tan lotion and other sundries typically include grabbing a few postcards from the rack by the front counter enroute to or from the beach. Snapshots in time, they provide us memories of past fun and relaxation for years to come.

One of my hobbies ( other than making this website :) ) has been to collect beach postcards from around the world. As of today I have approximately 1000 to 1500 of them of various ages and locations. This may seem like alot but is a small amount in comparison to many other serious collectors of postcards.

A few years ago I bought the domain name beachpostcards.com in anticipation of providing and sharing my collection with others. The problem has been monumental task of scanning them in, categorizing, displaying and capturing the details on the card given the number of cards I have in my collection to date. Nevertheless I am planning to attempt this again with the help of some software I found to help sort the images without driving me insane.

As I go through this I will share some of these with you all here as you may enjoy seeing them as well. Of course they will only fall into the category of east coast beaches.
