One of the marvels that Ocean City, Maryland is famous for is the three-mile Boardwalk that spans the beaches and give a fantastic and lingering view of the Atlantic Ocean. When people are not on the Boardwalk, they are busy shopping at factory outlet stores, where bargains can be found at every corner. Boardwalk, visitors have the chance to enjoy great pizza parlors, real boardwalk French fries, salt water taffy, indoor miniature golf and famous people watching in the evening time. There is ample opportunity for tourists to sample some of the finest restaurants in the Mid-Atlantic in the Boardwalk area.

Many tourists spend their time viewing wild ponies that have free reign to roam and prance in the wild and natural environment on Assateague Island Just 8 miles south of Ocean City. There are many nature trails, sandy dunes and bird watching stations that will delight any nature lover in the crowd. People love catching the sunrises and sunsets from the Ocean City beaches too.

For people that are curious about what was worn at the beaches when Ocean City was only a small beach location, visitors can tour the Life-Saving Station Museum on the south end of Ocean City, and view swim suits and other treasures of the past that were recovered from sunken shipwrecks.

Ocean City MD Boardwalk

Many people choose to become acquainted with Ocean City, Maryland by taking a walking tour of the historical areas found in the downtown area locations of Ocean City. Some people might enjoy searching for great antiques and other great bargains in this section of Ocean City, or they can find more antiques in the nearby cities of Snow Hill and Berlin.

In the Winter time, Ocean City hosts a Winterfest of Lights that will make visitors think they have stepped back in time. Lamp posts are adorned with festive wreaths, and people can visit with Santa, and drink hot chocolate. Ocean City is ablaze with lights and tourists can enjoy a tram ride while viewing these lighted displays.

The Convention and Visitor Bureau stands ready to help visitors with contacting dining establishments, making lodging inquiries or with information about the local attractions. For Groups, they provide help with itinerary planning, and will provide copies of their official tourism guide upon request.

On Sundays, the local tradition is to enjoy live music and ice cream sundaes in the Northside Park. On Wednesday’s Downtown at North Division Street and the Boardwalk, during the July and August, people can meet down on the beach and enjoy concerts, and dance. Every Thursday at 9 p.m. during July and August you can meet at 9 p.m. on the beach at North Division Street and the Boardwalk and enjoy a beach bonfire.
