The Hampton Beach, New Hampshire area is the perfect east coast beaches vacation spot for families and will be especially fun for teens and youngsters who can dabble on the sandy shores of this beach resort town, and immerse themselves in the Atlantic Ocean. There are many annual events that tourists can attend throughout the year. Some of these events are the Penguin Plunge, Catamaran Regatta, and the World Famous Sand Castle competition.

There is a weekly fireworks display on Wednesday nights that is right on the Hampton Beach shoreline. People particularly enjoy strolling on the mile long boardwalk and visiting Hampton Center, where they can enjoy a variety of seafood items, and some local delicacies such as fried dough and onion rings. There are nightly concerts during the Summer that families will find particularly entertaining at the Seashell, an open air concert stage that is very thrilling.

If you plan to visit Hampton Beach in May, you will right on time to enjoy the NHTA Truck and Trade Show. In June, the Catamaran Regatta will hold your attention for the weekend, and tourist can enjoy seeing competitive champions and novice wave runners battle it out for the chance to boast of their victory for another year.

Also in June, the annual Sand Sculpting Competition is held and Master artists from around the world craft gorgeous masterpieces made of sand during a full week of very competitive competition that culminates in the winner being awarded a $10,000 grand prize for their artistic efforts.

There are many free events that tourists can attend during the Summer months, and in July, tourists come by the hundreds to see the Miss Hampton Beach Pageant. These ladies are definitely gorgeous, almost as gorgeous as the beautiful sandy beaches found in Hampton Beach.

Children are very welcome in this beach resort town, and during the month of August, there are many free activities for children offered during the Children’s Festival. The activities children will find amusing and delightful are costume parades, sandcastle contests, and best of all free ice cream and the fact that every child will win a prize during this festival week!

Tourists can travel to Boston, Massachusetts in an hour’s time, or to the seaport towns in historical Newburyport, Massachusetts in less than 20 minutes. Lodging is available year round in the form of hotels, motels, cottages and condominiums. There are no hotels or motels located directly on the beach though, but there are campgrounds in the area if you feel like roughing it for a night or two. Many tourists visit in the Winter to enjoy the peace and serenity that they crave, and find it in the tumbling sounds of the Atlantic Ocean hitting the shoreline and the amazing sunrises and sunsets each day.


Hampton Beach is truly a celebration environment that the whole family will enjoy no matter what time of year they chose to visit this marvelous vacation resort town. Visitors can enjoy guided nature walks and live animal exhibits at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, or visit the Hampton Beach piers and go deep sea fishing for the day or for 2 hours at night. There are whale watching trips that can also be planned, as well as an concerts at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom.
